When to use a profile page vs a short link
4/24/2026
Short links and profile pages solve different sharing problems.
A short link is best when you already know the destination. A profile page is better when people need context, multiple links, or a reason to choose what to click next.
Use a short link when
- you are sharing one campaign URL
- you need a QR code for a flyer, event, or menu
- you want a clean redirect for a long destination
- you need to track clicks for a specific launch
Guest short links are useful for quick temporary sharing. Signed-in links are better when you want longer-lived history in the dashboard.
Use a profile when
- you need one public home for many links
- you want a polished creator, team, or service page
- you want to update links without changing the URL you share
- you need profile views and link clicks in one place
Profiles live at my.url4all.com/{username} and work well as the stable destination in bios, email signatures, launch pages, and customer-facing materials.
Use both together
The strongest workflow is usually both: a profile for the permanent hub and short links for individual campaigns.
